Multicultural Association in collaboration with Keyano College will be hosting Human Rights Day conference “Immigrants and Refugee Rights” on Saturday, December 10, 2016, 10:00am – 4:00pm at Doug Schmit Lecture Theatre, Keyano College featuring our keynote speaker Ms. Sushila Samy, Diversity Specialist from Human Rights Commission.
December 10th is International Human Rights Day, celebrated by thousands of people both on national and international level. This day commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This conference will bring together Service Providers, Social Profit Organizations, Businesses, and Community members together to promote human rights and encourage reflection and dialogue. Our goal is to enhance public’s understanding of human rights in general but more specifically the immigrants and refugees’ rights.
Our speakers will include experts from various institutions and service providers from Wood Buffalo Region and will highlight the current best practices, protocols, and identify gaps and challenges.
See you there!
