Youth Rights - Human Rights Day Worksho
Youth Rights issues have been identified as an area of need for dialogue and input from those in the know for our community. To address these issues, the Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo (MCA) will be hosting a full day workshop on December 10, 2015. It is a free workshop and will be held at Quality Inn Hotel.
This is an opportunity to bring Youth, Parents, Teachers and School representatives, Individuals or groups that work with youth directly/indirectly, and Non-profit organizations. The long term goal is to bring forth a generation equipped to lead the region into superior fields of prosperity, peace and harmony.
The Youth Rights Workshop is open to all parents and individuals/organizations who work with youth. Event is geared for youth of ages 12 - 18 but is beneficial to all members of community.
This Event is sponsored by the Human Rights Education and Multicultural Fund (HREMF) and UFCW Local 401.
Some of the topics that will be addressed during the span of the workshop are:
1) Youth and Drug and Alcohol Abuse
2) Youth and Physical and Emotional Abuse
3) Youth and the Right to be Themselves
4) Youth and the Right to Participate
5) Youth and Socio-economic differences within our region
6) Youth and the Right to Nutritional food
